PopSpot is progressively moving towards Decentralised Autonomous Organisation (DAO) where users are in control of community and content guidelines. With continuous introduction of DAO characteristics, engaged community’s importance continues to grow. Platform will be led by the community, future developments are aligned with community needs, and platform’s guidelines have matched that of the community.
The DAO main income is revenue share 5% of all the POPS token actions on PopSpot platform. These profits are shared proportionally with the holding of the PopSpot governance tokens.
The PopSpot Foundation is the steward of PopSpot governance tokens. It is not an overseer, but the base layer on which PopSpot governance tokens holders in the PosPot DAO can build.
The Foundation facilitates decentralised and community-led governance and is designed to become more decentralised over time. It is tasked with administering the decisions of the PopSpot DAO, and is responsible for day-to-day administration, bookkeeping, project management, and other tasks that ensure the DAO community’s ideas have the support they need to become a reality.
The goal of the PopSpot Foundation is to steward the growth and development of the PopSpot ecosystem in a fair and inclusive way. It utilises the Technical Fund, which is controlled by a multisig wallet, to pay its expenses as directed by the PopSpot DAO and provides an infrastructure for PopSpot governance tokens holders to collaborate through open and permissionless governance processes.
PopSpot DAO exists because decentralised governance is critical to building and managing a globally dispersed community—and therefore critical to the success of the PopSpot ecosystem. The Improvement Proposal Process will allow PopSpot DAO members to make decisions regarding Ecosystem Fund allocations, governance rules, projects, partnerships, and beyond.
A special council on the PopSpot Foundation (the DAO’s “Board”) provides, at the behest of the PopSpot DAO members, oversight of the Foundation administrators. The purpose of the Board is to administer DAO proposals and serve the vision of the community. It meets on proposals requiring administrative review under PopSpot DAO rules.
